As part of our community efforts, we organised a spooktacular pumpkin carving competition at Coychurch Primary School 🎃
Hey there pumpkin!
Opening any new site always provides its challenges when trying to embed yourself into the local community, at blue self storage we prefer to get jump straight into the community rather than wait for an invite.
We strive to interact with the local community and build relationships with stakeholders. Not just the business community but local charities, sports clubs and schools. We also try to do our bit to support the most vulnerable groups in society.
Community engagement is something the blue self storage team works extremely hard to achieve and believe in. There is no doubt we’re better together when we build each other up; it also makes our jobs more fun and worthwhile, making a positive difference.
Halloween is a fun time of the year, a chance for adults and children to have fun trick or treating, dressing up, scaring each other, and families getting together to watch kids carve pumpkins (although it was Swede carving in our day!).
This year in 2023, we arranged a Pumpkin carving competition at Coychurch Primary School. Martin, our friendly Storage coordinator, packed our van full of pumpkins and delivered them to the school.
The brief was to be as creative as possible and have fun!
Some of the blue self storage team would then judge the pumpkins and pick out the winners, which was easier said than done!
Everyone did a great job and the effort put in by the children and teachers was incredible – you all made your school very proud! A big well done to everyone who participated.
Each winner was awarded a prize and we contributed £50 towards the school for books.
If you would like to work with blue self storage on something similar or have an idea we could support please get in touch – we’d love to work together.
The next stop is our food collection for the Llanrumney Hall food pantry. We’ll have more news on this in December!
