If you’re a customer with us and you refer someone who signs up at our facility*, we’ll send you a £25 cheque in the post as a thank you.

Do I need a padlock?

We provide a padlock and key, which we ask to be returned at the end of your contract.

Do I need ID to register?

When securing a storage unit, we ask for proof of address (i.e. a recent bill or bank statement). We also ask for photo ID, so a driving license or passport.

When booking a plot for a caravan, we ask for your insurance information, the make, model, and either the CRIS, CHASSIS or VIN number of the vehicle (or a registration plate number, for a motorhome). We use this information to make your unique photo ID pass, which is checked upon entry and exit of our facility.

How do I cancel my contract?

We require cancellation of contract to be done via written notice – either email, or in person. We’ll give the account holder a form to sign, and then we’ll release your contract.

If you leave before the full month is over, we’ll refund you your remaining days or weeks.

How do I pay? What methods are available?

We take initial signup payments from your card, and then your monthly or quarterly charge will be paid by direct debit. Alternatively, you can pay for 6 months upfront.

If you require a refund at any time, we issue a cheque which typically takes 10-14 days to arrive.

How does your referral scheme work?

If you store your caravan with us and refer friends and family, we’ll give £10 off signup for them, and £10 off your storage for you!

If you rent one of our storage units in any of our sites and refer someone new, we’ll give you £25, credited straight to your account to say thank you – and that’s the case for every new person you refer to us.

Is there anything I can’t store?

While most things are fine to store in your unit, some are against the rules:

  • Illegal items
  • Corrosive items
  • Excess tires
  • Excess white goods (i.e. fridges)
  • Gases or fuel
  • Wet items (everything must enter the unit dry)

For caravans, we ask that you disconnect gas bottles over winter and remove ALL FOOD from within, at all times – even things like salt and pepper, or dried pasta.

What additional on-site services do you offer?

We’re proud to say that our Cardiff self storage facility offers:

  • Packaging (eco-friendly re-used boxes, bubble wrap, tape, pens, new boxes, mattress covers)
  • Unit racking for easy, tidy storage
  • Calor gas
  • Washing & vacuuming facilities for caravans
  • Air pressure unit
  • Grids for emptying grey and black water from your caravans

What are your discounts?

At our Cardiff self storage site, we offer discounts for:

  • Removals companies (10% off a 160 sqft ground floor unit or 20% off a 160 sqft upper floor unit)
  • Students (10% off a 20ft unit when you pay 3 months in advance)
  • Blue Light Card holders (we offer discounts for Armed Forces, Emergency Services and the NHS)
  • Caravan, boat & motorhome insurance (using our Platinum CaSSOA awarded Wentloog (Cardiff) site means you can visit www.cassoa.co.uk to look through the many insurance companies that provide our customers with a discounted insurance package)
  • Packaging (discounted price of ÂŁ1 if you buy used boxes rather than new ones for ÂŁ2)
  • First floor storage units (we offer a discount for upper floor units)

What does my payment cover?

All of our costs include VAT. All units come with a free lock and key (to be returned when you end your contract).

We require a £50 refundable deposit to ensure our unit safety and upkeep.

We require a £40 refundable fee for a barrier control fob for large vehicles and caravans.

Insurance is not included but required, and starts at ÂŁ4 a month per ÂŁ500 contents insurance.

What happens if my plans or dates change?

We’re flexible to your plans. Our contracts work on a rolling monthly basis, you can cancel or change details at any time – we just ask that it’s done in writing.

What happens when my contract ends?

When you end your storage unit contract and have given written notice, we ask that you sweep clean your unit, and hand in your free padlock and key, or photo ID if applicable.

If you leave before the month is up, we’ll refund you for the days remaining, via cheque (which typically takes 10-14 days to arrive).

For caravans, motorhomes, boats and trailer tents, you’ll also need to hand in your fob and ID pass.

What notice period do I need to give?

We ask that you give us 1 month notice period for caravans, boats, motorhomes and vehicles, and 14 days for units.

What security measures do you have?

We take the safety and security of your possessions incredibly seriously. Here’s how we ensure maximum security:

  • No entry without photo ID through a manned entry-point
  • Our own in-house security team
  • 24/7 security patrols with dogs
  • 24/7 monitored CCTV surveillance
  • Alarmed perimeter fencing
  • Pest control
  • Access fobs for caravan, motorhome, boat & vehicle customers

When can I access my unit?

You can access your unit 24/7, 365 days a year! Even when the office is closed, the site is open – and that includes Christmas day.
