Today we speak to Rachael, the founder, who comes clean about running one of South Wales’ most successful cleaning companies…
Hi Rachael! Tell us all about your business.
Hello! I’m Rachael Flanagan, the heart and soul behind Mrs Buckét, a commercial cleaning service that’s all about excellence and attention to detail. We’re not just cleaners; we’re partners in making your workspace shine. From offices to educational institutions, we bring our passion for cleanliness to every corner, ensuring a spotless, productive environment.
I set up the business when I was just 18, spending £20 on some black and white flyers – and I haven’t looked back since! From the early days of working up to 70 hours per week on my own, through to our current 20+ strong management team leading a growing workforce of talented hygiene operatives, it’s been a rollercoaster ride since 2005.
How has your business changed in the last 3 years?
The last three years have been a whirlwind, haven’t they? The landscape since Covid-19 for us has changed a lot. Cleaning became a topic of conversation and people saw the importance that cleaning and high levels of hygiene actually has on an organisation.
With the spotlight on cleanliness, we’ve embraced the challenge, turning it into an opportunity to lead with innovation and by becoming a Real Living Wage employer. It’s about more than cleaning; it’s about leadership, customer excellence, and making a real difference in the places we work and live.
Why do you use blue self storage?
Partnering with blue self storage at their Bridgend location was a game-changer for us. It’s given our teams across the country the flexibility they need to be at their best, any time, any place. They need to be able to access any stock and machinery at any time of the day, and blue self storage enables just that.
What’s the most useful thing about blue self storage?
The 24/7 access is a lifesaver. It means our teams can get what they need, whenever they need it, without a hitch.
And while our storage unit is based at their Bridgend location, knowing they’ve got facilities around South Wales (and beyond!) is really helpful – it means we could store at multiple sites if needed.
What projects are you currently working on?
We’re working with the industrial and education sectors, transforming spaces into places of productivity and learning. It’s all about strong account management and making every environment we work with a better place to be.
What’s next in the pipeline for your business?
The future is bright – sparkly clean, in fact! We’re on a mission to remain the top cleaning service in Wales and the employer of choice. We’ll be continuing to raise the bar, striving for excellence, and making a positive impact every day.
