Meet Our Charity of the Year – LATCH Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity

We’re incredibly proud to announce that our chosen Charity of the Year for 2024/25 is none other than LATCH Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity – an organisation that provides essential care, guidance, and financial support to families affected by childhood cancer across Wales.

At blue self storage, we care deeply about giving back to our community. Supporting a cause like LATCH feels especially close to home – and this year, it was a team decision. When we opened the floor to nominations, LATCH was a clear favourite. The work they do is extraordinary, and we’re honoured to be backing them in whatever ways we can.

Why we chose LATCH

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, it changes everything. LATCH supports families through this incredibly difficult time by offering emotional support, accommodation, financial aid, and practical guidance throughout treatment. Based at the Children’s Hospital for Wales in Cardiff, they work closely with families who need them most, right when they need them most.

Our team felt a strong connection to their work – and it was unanimous. We wanted our fundraising and awareness efforts to make a real difference, and LATCH was the charity that spoke to all of us.

Our Easter collection for LATCH

To kickstart our partnership, we launched a small Easter donation drive – and the response has been heartwarming. Staff, customers and members of our wider community have all contributed to a growing collection of chocolate treats, toys and goodies, which will be delivered in time for Easter to bring a little extra joy to families supported by LATCH.

What’s next?
