We don’t share much (if anything) with the iconic band, but we have been crowned European champions for the second time!
Our Llanishen site has been awarded the External Storage Site of the Year by FEDESSA!
This isn’t our only FEDESSA win! Our Llanishen site earned European Container Storage Facility of the Year in 2021.
FEDESSA (the Federation of European Self Storage Associations) looks after more than 2,000 self storage sites across Europe. That’s over 70% of the continent’s facilities! They’re the go-to experts for keeping storage standards high and the industry running smoothly.
Our Operations Director, Dean, and CEO, Chris, travelled to Dublin for the award ceremony and they had a blast! They met other self storage professionals and celebrated the industry’s achievements. Events like this help keep standards high and recognise everyone’s hard work.
This is what the FEDESSA CEO, had to say about our entry:
“This entry is a remarkable example of holistic excellence excelling in location, construction, appearance and security. From seamless access and QR entry, to high presentation standards and a mature security operation, the facility demonstrates true operational strength. Its commercial performance and yield‑management are clearly robust, which made it a clear first choice.
Additionally, the social media work is truly outstanding — edgy, innovative, and with broad appeal, especially among younger audiences. There’s genuine pride in the site’s appearance, with vibrant colours, cultural references, and playful design throughout. Congratulations to everyone involved for setting such a high bar.”
Set up in 1995, the Self Storage Association (SSA UK) is the leading voice for the UK storage industry, supporting operators and suppliers across the country. Representing over 80% of facilities and more than 680 members, it works with FEDESSA to set high standards, share research, and provide a voice for the industry. Its goal is a sustainable, well-regulated, and respected self storage sector across the UK.
Did we mention this is our third SSA win too! Our Llanishen site won again in 2021 our Wentloog site in 2023!
We’re over the moon to be recognised for our hard work! None of it would be possible without our amazing team here at blue self storage. Huge round of applause to every one of them.
