More Than Storage: Why Giving Back Matters at blue self storage

We are a storage company, but we are also part of local communities across the UK. That means showing up, supporting good causes and doing what we can to make a positive impact.

For us, getting involved with charities is not about ticking a box. It is about supporting real people, real communities and causes that genuinely matter.

Supporting Communities Beyond Storage

Every blue self storage location sits at the heart of a local community. We work with families, businesses, charities, sports clubs and organisations every single day, so we see first hand how important community support really is.

That is why giving back has become part of our culture.

One thing we are especially proud of is our commitment to supporting local charities whenever we open a new store. Every time blue self storage launches a new site, we provide 12 months of free storage to a local charity. Storage space can make a huge difference for organisations working with limited budgets, giving them a secure place to keep donations, equipment, event materials and supplies without extra financial pressure.

It is a simple way for us to support the people already doing amazing work in the area.

Taking On Challenges For Good Causes

Supporting charities is not always about donations. Sometimes it is about stepping outside your comfort zone and doing something challenging to raise awareness and funds.

Members of the blue self storage team regularly take part in fundraising events and endurance challenges for causes close to their hearts.

From Ironman events to long distance cycling challenges, our team is always up for pushing themselves for a good reason. One of our own, Dean, even took on the incredible challenge of cycling all the way to Paris to raise money and support charitable causes.

Let’s be honest, most of us struggle cycling to the shops some days, so Paris is seriously impressive.

These challenges bring people together, raise important funds and remind us all how much can be achieved when there is a meaningful goal behind it.

Backing Grassroots Sports Teams

We are also passionate about supporting grassroots sports teams and local clubs. Community sports play such an important role in bringing people together, building confidence and creating opportunities for young people.

Local clubs often rely heavily on sponsorships and community backing just to keep things running. By supporting grassroots teams, we are helping local players, coaches and volunteers continue doing what they love.

Plus, there is something special about seeing a local team proudly wearing sponsored kits on a muddy Sunday morning pitch in classic British weather.

More Than Business

At blue self storage, we believe businesses should care about more than just profits. Being part of a community means contributing to it.

Whether it is fundraising, charity partnerships, sponsorships or offering free storage to local organisations, we want to support the people who make our communities stronger.

Charities and local organisations do incredible work every day, often with limited resources and behind the scenes. If we can make their jobs even slightly easier, then that is something worth doing.

Looking Ahead

We know there is always more we can do, and we are excited to continue supporting charities, community projects and local organisations across the UK.

As blue self storage continues to grow, so will our commitment to giving back.

Because at the end of the day, storage is what we do, but helping people is what matters most.
